Mike Malone has been working in the field, for FAVOR Greenville, since August 2013. He’s currently their Senior Program Director. Despite the formal title, his professional experience in behavioral health has been anything but traditional. Prior to working for FAVOR, Mike was a person in long-term recovery who earned a living working in the Restaurant Industry. He was also a very active member of his recovery community, working with others, regularly volunteering time at detoxes, outpatient centers and sober living facilities. He practiced being of service to person’s needing and seeking recovery in countless ways. Since starting at FAVOR Greenville, he’s enjoyed doing that full-time. He’s also gone back to school to finish is Bachelors, become a Certified Peer Support Specialist, and is in consultation to complete his ARISE Intervention Certification. Perhaps more importantly, Mike’s spent many hours over the last 6 years Recovery Coaching, training and supervising Recovery Coaches, working with families, coordinating volunteers, and creating and directing programs at FAVOR Greenville. Much of Mike’s training and experience has been informal but also rich in nature. In summary, Mike Malone rides high on the hog in this field, but he rides hog well.
