Megan Pruitt, Pharm D
Megan Pruitt, PharmD is a clinical pharmacy consultant for the SCORxE Academic Detailing Service and Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Outcomes Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina (SC). She supports the South Carolina (SC) Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), Bureau of Drug Control, on the CDC’s Prescription Drug Overdose Prevention for States Program, and the MUSC team partnering with SC’s Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services (DAODAS) on the SAMHSA State Response to the Opioid Crisis project intended to expand access to medication assisted treatment in our state. In her role as a SCORxE clinical pharmacy consultant, she provides academic detailing visits to primary care and develops evidence-based oral and print content to support AD visits. Dr. Pruitt has published an Amazon ebook, Catalyst (pharmD): The Next Generation Pharmacy Student, and has previous experience as a community pharmacist at a SC Federally Qualified Health Center. She received her B.S in Health Sciences from Clemson University and her Doctor of Pharmacy from the SC College of Pharmacy.
